I began photographing live music back in 2002 when I received my first official photo pass from the band 311. Since then I have photographed a couple of hundred shows covering a variety of artists in ten states coast to coast. I’ve photographed up and coming artists and musical legends, small clubs to huge arenas. At some point, I began to treat my live music photography as an art form in where I focus on the light and energy to capture visually expressive images with the goal of making the viewer feel as if they were there. I still photograph shows on occasion and it remains one of my favorite photographic subjects.
Some select artists I’ve photographed and worked with: 311, The Roots, George Clinton, Snoop Dogg, Nelly Furtado, Silverchair, G Love & Special Sauce, Mike Doughty, Jack Johnson, Deborah Harry, RX Bandits, Incubus, Peter Paul & Bjorn, The Used, Mutemath, N.E.R.D., The Wailers, Sublime with Rome and others.
